Before Midnight began with a nephew who copied everything: the walk, the sunglasses, the way his dad rolled his sleeves. Watching him, we understood something every parent already knows: they are only this little for so long, and the clock is always a few minutes to midnight.
The name keeps a little of the fairytale, the magic that ends at twelve, but the fairytale is a metaphor, not a costume.
